Sarah Schrift (vocals, lyrics, guitar): As a lyricist, Schrift aims at unflinching honesty. She believes that great art is rooted in embarrassing truths and strives for that in her work. Sarah is not only a singer/songwriter, but an accomplished and degreed painter that shows her work both nationally and internationally. The Sours self-titled album features her cover and interior designs. Sarah creates one-of-a-kind pieces of handmade jewelry out of vintage and repurposed materials and she also teaches art classes in NYC.
Sasha Markovic (guitar): Sasha is a cross-genre composer/guitarist who has been writing, recording and performing for the past twenty years. His projects range from instrumental acoustic duets, to scoring for both movies and theater, to working with hard rock and blues bands. His latest acoustic chamber project Yagull has recently released the critically acclaimed album, films. This album has earned him recognition in over 30 countries. He is currently working on a follow-up to this album with Kana Kamitsubo.
Kana Kamitsubo (piano): Kana is a classical and jazz pianist as well as a board-certified music therapist. She holds degrees from Berklee College of Music, Koyo Conservatory and Osaka Music College. Kana has been performing with a variety of professional musicians in different varieties of music across both the US and Asia. She has composed numerous pieces of music for therapy and healing, some of which have been recorded on her solo album Poignant Piano (2011) and the relaxation CD, Optimal Wellness for Every Body (2008). Since 2008, Kana has been developing her own music therapy method which combines music therapy and music education and enables children with learning disabilities to learn music. Both Kamitsubo and Markovic run Hug Music in Forest Hills, NY. Hug Music offers early childhood music sessions, music lessons, and therapeutic music for children with special needs.
